game boy rocks
Not that I make a habit of this, but I was at the Nintendo World Store near rockefeller plaza the other day and came across a bunch of Game Boy DSes with a crazy game (?) called Electroplankton on them. The reason I added the (?) to 'game' is that it's actually more of an interactive music tool in which you use the two screens of the DS and the stylus input to interact with things (somewhere between animated shapes and underwater-like characters) that either make music when you touch them or start moving and interact with one another and make music on their own. There's even a 'performance mode'... the program is itching for expandability to make it more of a 'real' performance tool but it is at least a pretty cool toy and a cool nod from Nintendo acknowledging the world of electronic music performance. Ch-ch-check it out.
